Martin de Ruyter was taught ‘trench art’ continuing a tradition of his antecedents who served in WWI in Europe. The soldiers would make jewellery and art from whatever they could find in the trenches, in between battles. His classic Anzac Poppy brooch is made of a bullet casing, painted with red and black enamel paint. Variations are available in red on white, and red on pink. He makes a donation to the RSA from each sale.
