Notes:
This work is in a private collection; acquired by the vendor's father who was a friend of the artist. The image depicts the hills behind Te Henga, on the Waitakere Coast, which was Binney's best known 'territory'. The landforms and shapes within the hills often suggested birds, beaks, wings although he also revelled in the subtle linkages between folds of the land, and the secrets they held.
